Volkswagen’s Transparent Factory

In Volkswagen’s Gläserne Manufaktur (Transparent Factory), the Phaeton model is built by hand. This unique combination of manufacturing and showmanship allows visitors to watch as an automobile is being assembled. Guided tours in ten languages, architectural tours, children’s tours.

Vineyard Schloss Proschwitz Prinz zur Lippe

Opposite the Albrechtsburg in Meißen, you will find the vineyards of the oldest private vineyard in eastern Germany. In 1996, Schloss Proschwitz was the first Saxon member to be accepted into the
prestigious Association of German Quality and Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP). Fine wines produced by the vineyard, and fine spirits distilled in the Meissener Spezialitätenbrennerei, can be sampled as part of culinary wine tastings, lavish tasting menus or during a tour of the cellars by candlelight.

Sächsisches Staatsweingut Schloss Wackerbarth Europe’s foremost ‘vineyard experience’

The sparkling wine tour shows you how it is made and explains the different stages of sparkling wine production. You will taste the result in a subsequent tasting of three samples.
On the wine tour, in the vineyards and the wine cellar, you will learn about the process of wine production. This is followed by a tasting of three wines.

During a walk through the vineyards of Schloss Wackerbarth, you will learn what constitutes 850 years of viticulture in Saxony, and how the smallest wine growing region in Germany produces such distinctive

Dresden Porcelain – Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur Dresden

The factory, founded in 1872, dedicates itself to the finest tradition of European porcelain. A small group of highly motivated craftsmen and women produce delicate porcelain items entirely by hand. Experts value the rarity of these elegant pieces with the blue ‘SP Dresden’ mark on the bottom as highly coveted collectables.

Personal guided tours through the whole production process:

Radeberger Export Beer Brewery

In the beer town of Radeberg, only 15 km from Dresden, you will find one of the most modern breweries in Germany and the only one that has been brewing Pilsner beer continuously from 1872 to the present day. In a personal look behind the scenes, experience how this leading premium beer is made, from the brewing process through to bottling. The interesting and informative tour culminates with a tasting of Radeberger Pilsner and Zwickelbier (unfiltered Radeberger Pilsner). In addition we recommend our special themed tours which we put on throughout the year. These include the ‘Geselliger Zapferkurs’ (Convivial Draught Beer Course) with hearty bar snacks and ‘Advent tours’ with
tastings of Radeberger Treberstollen Christmas cake.

Situated right next door to the factory, the Museum of MEISSEN®Art houses the only collection in the world that gives a comprehensive and continuous insight into the design of Meissen porcelain® from its
beginnings to the present day. In the demo workshops, visitors experience the four most important stages of production: throwing and casting, joining the parts of the figure together (fettling), underglaze painting and overglaze painting.
