Ranking
Hotels are listed here on the basis of ‘category’: i.e. Luxus, First Class, Komfort, Standard, and Tourist. Within these categories, they are listed according to the number of rooms.
German hotel classification
The stars that appear in the hotel list have been acquired as a result of the voluntary German hotel classifica tion scheme, applying international standards. They translate into the following categories:
***** = Luxus
**** = First Class
*** = Komfort
** = Standard
* = Tourist
The supplementary letter S (Superior) may be awarded for a particularly high level of service within each category. Hotels without stars have not yet participated in the voluntary classification scheme. This shouldnot in any way be interpreted as a reflection on their standard.
Group rate
We have listed only those places of accommodation that cater for groups. The rates shown here are group discount prices (net) per person sharing a double room, and include breakfast. The price quotedapplies to groups of 16 persons or more.

Hotel signage
The city has installed a system of traffic signs to guide guests arriving by road. These begin at the Autobahn exits and on the B172 trunk road. Motorists are guided via four different approach routes, each with its own colour coding.
